Monster Trucks crunched, crushed and roared as they took over Brighton Speedway on Saturday. The extreme stunts by Sabotage, Trainwreck, Hellion, True North and Gravitron left a packed grandstand cheering and screaming for more. Drivers Kristal Carey, Dale Eve, Ed Sanderson, Sam Carey and Richie Bernier provided the ultimate fan experience by crushing cars and jumping over a pair of school buses. QBT Excavating and Hotch’s Auto Parts presented this spectacular night that saw Late Models, Thunder Stocks, Mini Stocks and Comp 4’s running on the 1/3rd mile clay oval.

Sandercock Soars to Winner’s Circle

Heat winner No. 57 Charlie Sandercock led a field of 11 Vanderlaan Building Product Late Models to green in the 30-lap main event.  The high-side hero was hooked up as he led the chase from start to finish with heat winner No. 3 Nate Rinaldi, No. 46 Brandon Mowat going wheel to wheel in an epic chase for second.  As hardcharger No. 5 Steve Baldwin reeled in his opponents from his 11th starting position got by Mowat and Rinaldi who later blew a motor.  On the restart, Sandercock and Baldwin battled for the lead with the 57 sailing to victory lane for the second time this season.  Baldwin was runner-up and No. 7 Anthony Rinaldi finished closely behind.  Mowat was fourth and No. 33 David Vandertoorn was fifth.

Gregory Grabs 1st Season Win

No. 03 Justin Ramsay took a full field of 24 Brighton Automotive Thunder Stocks to the green flag in the 20-lap feature.  He was the car to beat until fellow heat winner No. 16 Kaitlyn O’Blenis slid into the lead and led for five laps.  O’Blenis and No 26 Brock Gregory went door-to-door in a thriller.  Gregory powered into the lead and despite multiple cautions, never relinquished the point leaving Ramsay to settle for second.  No. 72 Doug Anderson earned third, No. 0 Tyler French fourth and No. 18 Kyle Anderson fifth.

Evenden Ends 5-Year Drought

No. 12 Caleb Severin jumped on the lead during the first lap of the Bills John’s Mini Stock 15-lap main.  It would only last a short time with No. 22 Tyson Gregory hungry to park it.  The points leader snapped up the lead and held it for 10 laps.  In a surprise turn of events, the leaders popped front tires sending Gregory and Severin to the pits.  Taking advantage of his good fortune, new race leader No. 25 Lawrence  Evenden charged to victory lane ending a five-year drought.  No. 2 Trevyn McCrillis placed second, No. 75 Owen Chilvers was third, No. 71 Alesha Gerrard fourth and No. 04 Dave Chamberlain fifth.

Checkers fly for Fletcher again

Heat winner No. 15 Josh Bogaard wasted no time scooping up the top spot from polesitter No. 42 JR Aiden Fletcher in the Bills John’s Comp 4s to green in the 15-lap feature.  Bogaard put the hammer down and closed the door on Fletcher at every turn.  At the halfway point Fletcher looked to the outside and powered back into the lead and on to the winner’s circle for the third time this season with Bogaard in second.  No. 10 Travis Mclean placed third, No. 91 Jaiden Miller and No. 24 Travis Fox-Connor.
