Apples Eve and Applefest Shootout at Brighton Speedway

Six classes hit the track for Apples Eve and Applefest Shootout on September 25th and 26th. An action-packed weekend with multiple traveling series visiting Brighton Speedway. The ROC Sportsman Series and the DIRTCar 358s visit along with the Northeast Late Model Alliance, and the Duel on the Dirt series for Mini Stocks and Thunder Stocks. Racing both Friday, and Saturday night presented by Cool100.   

Bainer’s OilGARD Canadian Modified/UMP Open Night One  

The Canadian Modified twenty-five lap feature began with No.40 Ron Wadforth in first followed by No.29 Phil Potts, No.1 Shawn Gregory, No.25 Greg Belyea, and No.212 Adam Whaley.  

On the green flag Wadforth gained an early lead while Potts and Gregory began battling for second. Potts came out on top on lap six, then on lap ten he made the pass for first and led the field for nine laps before Wadforth took back the first position.  

Meanwhile, Gregory fell back allowing Belyea, Whaley, and No.97 Dave Barrett to pass him. The race finished with Wadforth taking the win, Potts in second, Belyea in third, Whaley in fourth, and Barrett in fifth.  

Bill’s Johns Mini Stock Night One  

The Mini Stock Duel on the Dirt Feature race on Friday saw Twenty-six cars hit the track for their twenty-five-lap feature. No.22x Brandon Gregory led the field to green with No.4A Mason Anderson, No.55 Craig Cole, No.37 AJ Peters, and No.17K Spencer Riddell behind.  

The field went green and Gregory gained a solid lead. Lap seven, saw Cole pass Anderson for second.   

Gregory continued to dominate the field leaving no room for anyone to pass, meanwhile No.46x Dion Riley had made his way from the tenth starting position up to third by lap eleven with Cole still in second.   

The race finished with Gregory taking the win in front of Cole, Riley, No.1RJR Sierra Robinson, and No.17K Spencer Riddel.  

Brighton Automotive Thunder Stock Night One and Two  

Friday night Thunder Stock racing saw No.5 Adam Turner on the pole, No.72 Doug Anderson starting in second, No.22x Brandon Gregory in third, No.03 Justin Ramsay in fourth and No.87 James Turgeon in fifth.   

When green flag flew, Turner and Anderson began their battle for first. Anderson found some speed on the high side as Turner held the bottom line.   

On lap twelve, Ramsay passed Gregory for third. Two laps later, he passed Anderson for second. With only five laps left, Ramsay did not have enough track to take first from Turner.   

Turner took the checkered flag followed by Ramsay, No.108 Zach Bleich, No.47 Kyle Pelrine, and No.44 Tommy Bailey.  

Saturday night Thunder Stock, Duel on the Dirt 40-lap Feature race saw No.1J Jason Fontaine on the pole followed by No.22x Brandon Gregory, No.47X Kyle Pelrine, No.108 Zach Bleich, and No.03 Justin Ramsay.   

On the green flag, Fontaine held the lead while Ramsay jumped out to the second position. By lap nine No.0 Tyler French had made his way to the third position from his eighth starting position. On lap ten Ramsay made the pass for first.  

On lap eighteen, French passed for second and began battling Ramsay for first. Finally, on lap twenty-seven, French made the pass and held the first position and finished the race in first.  

French took the win followed by Ramsay, No.26 Brock Gregory, Fontain, and No.10 Carter Rhodes.   

ROC Sportsman Night One and Two  

The ROC Sportsman, Friday night race saw No.35B Brennan Moore on the pole, No.48D Sylvain Dupuis in second, No.16 Tucker Halliday in third, No.185 Tyler Puchalski in fourth, No.35D Dylan Moore in fifth.  

Lap one saw Brennan Moore jump out to an early lead while No.7 Cody McPherson began weaving his way through the field from his sixth starting position.   

Later, on lap twenty-two, both Halliday and McPherson passed Dupuis holding the second and third positions.   

McPherson made the pass for second on lap twenty-nine but with only six laps left his attempts to pass Brennan Moore for first were not enough.   

Brennan Moore finished first, McPherson finished second, Halliday finished third, Dupuis finished fourth, and No.4B Brad Overbeeke finished fifth.   

The Saturday night 35-lap Applefest Shootout began with No.185 Tyler Puchalski on the pole followed by No.35B Brennan Moore, No.17M Madie Wallace, No.88K Dylan Kirkland, and No.78JR Nigel Pendykoski.   

The green flag flew and Brennan Moore immediately took first position.  

By lap twenty McPherson had made his way to the third position from tenth just behind Brennan Moore and Kirkland in first and second. On lap twenty-eight McPherson passed Kirkland for second.   

McPherson attempted to pass Brennan Moore for first but with only six laps to go there was not enough time.  

Brennan Moore finished first followed by McPherson, No.18 Brad Rouse, Kirkland, and Pendykoski.  

DIRTCar358 Night One and Two  

The 15-lap Dash for Cash saw No.151KB Brian McDonald on the pole in front of No.37S Gary Lindberg, No.44 Johnathon Ferguson, No.96 Kyle Dingwall, and No.17 Tristan Draper.  

McDonald led the field to green and Lindberg was right on his tail from the beginning.   

On lap eleven, Lindberg made the pass for first. Then, Draper passed McDonald for second on lap twelve.   

The dash concluded with Lindberg taking the win followed by Draper, McDonald, No.74 David Flannigan, and Dingwall.  

The 75-lap Saturday night Applefest Shootout saw No.701 Chris Raabe starts on the pole in front of No.18 Kalen Draper, No.151KB Brian McDonald, No.17 Tristan Draper, and No.88z Bobby Herrington.  

On the green flag Raabe jumped out to an early lead with Draper close behind. Lindberg made his way to the third position after a restart on lap two.   

Then, on lap twelve, Lindberg passed Draper for second and began his hunt on Raabe for first. On lap twenty, he made the pass and secured the first position.   

Lindberg held a strong lead while No.6 Mat Williamson made his way to the second position and challenged Lindberg for first. The pair battled through the rest of the race, and Williamson took first on lap sixty-seven.   

Williamson held first for seven laps but on the final lap Lindberg came out on top.   

Lindberg took the Applefest Shootout win followed by Williamson, Raabe, Herrington, and Dingwall.  

NLMA Great Crate Race Night Two  

The Northeast Late Model Alliance 40-lap Feature Race was led to green by No.3 Nathan Rinaldi, No.151 Brian McDonaldi started second, No.09 Mat Vanderlinden third, No.46 Brandon Mowat in fourth, and No.57 Charlie Sandercock in fifth.  

Rinaldi fired first and held position with McDonald on his tail.  

On lap twelve, Mowat passed McDonald and secured the second position and began his hunt on Rinaldi for first.  

Rinaldi held first position through multiple cautions but the final caution on lap thirty-six allowed Mowat to pass Rinaldi on the high side. With only four laps to go there was not enough time for Rinaldi to take it back.   

Mowat finished first followed by Rinaldi, No.41 Ryan Lambert, No.11 Kyle Sopaz, and No.5 Steve Baldwin.  

4 Cylinder Open Night Two  

The 20-lap 4 Cylinder Open Feature race began with No.24 Brandan Lefrancois on the pole followed by No.3 Doug Butler, No.20 Cody Sager, No.97 Kyle Gregory, and No.2 Trevyn McCrillis.   

On the green flag Lefrancois pits and Sager took over the first position. Sager led the field for four laps while McCrillis gained four positions and eventually took first position on lap five.  

McCrillis dominated the field holding the first position through four restarts and tough pressure from Sager on his tail throughout the race.   

McCrillis took the win with Sager in second, No.7c Shawn Keus in third, No.42 Aidan Fletcher in fourth, and No.22x Brandon Gregory in fifth.

The final night of 2026 Brighton Speedway racing is Saturday, October 3rd starting at 1 p.m. Eve of Destruction hits the track with the 100 Monster Endurance race, Ladies, Junior, Flagpole, Mini Van, and School Bus races along with a Long Jump challenge and a Demolition Derby to finish off the night. Gates open at 11:00 a.m. with Overflow Southend Grandstands and Northend Lawn Chair tickets available at the gate with cash only. Catch all the action, presented by Brighton Recycling, Hotch’s Auto Parts and Northshore Trailer Park.
