Destruction rules season finale at Brighton Speedway
Brighton Speedway is set to open this Saturday, May 3rd with the Vanderlaan Building Products Northeast Late Model Alliance Lid Lifter $2025.00 to win Late Model season opener. The Bainer’s OilGARD Anti Rust Canadian Modifieds, Brighton Automotive Thunder Stocks and Bill’s John Portable Toilets Mini Stock Division will join the field to kick off the 58th season of racing at Brighton Speedway.
Tickets purchased at the gate will receive a $5.00 discount with a donation to the Brighton Fareshare Food Bank. With hopes of packing the Vanderlaan’s Building Products trailer, the Food Bank is always in need of non-perishable goods, sanitary products and cash donations.
Test and Tune kicked off the season at Brighton Speedway, with the roar of the engines and the dust in the air, drivers brought out their 2025 rides to check their set up and show off their new designs. The cars look amazing and are getting ready to kick off the year.
A full schedule is set to entertain fans and drivers alike. Early on, we have a visit from Dirt Racing Legend, Ken Schrader on May 17th for the Belleville Tirecraft night. The UMP Modifieds versus the Bainer’s OilGard Anti Rust Canadian Modifieds puts big tires and 602 crates against smaller tires and open motors. Can our local heroes compete with the legend? It’s always an amazing battle to see.
The Empire Super Sprints will make their first ever visit to the Brighton Speedway this season, joining the Lawns We Do 360 Sprint division for their first of five events on May 31st. The Southern Ontario Sprints will Return to the 1/3rd mile oval in 2025 on June 28th, with 360 Sprints also headlining the show on August 9th before the annual Rock 107 Labour Day Classic Sprint Car Weekend, August 30th and 31st, featuring both 360 Sprint Cars and Crate 602 Sprint Cars. The winged sprint cars are always a fan favorite at Brighton Speedway and not to be missed!
While every night at the Speedway is action packed and full of excitement, other notable highlights to the season include the Hotch’s Auto Parts and QBT Excavating Monster Truck Madness featuring Overkill Evolution and Black Stallion. This event, running in conjunction with a complete race program of Late Models, Thunder Stocks, Mini Stocks and Stingers, requires tickets purchased in advance on-line. This sell-out event is popular with kids of all ages!
The FMX Pro Riders and Stunt Bikes return on July 5th with their daring jumps and freestyle exhibition, the Gord’s Water Vantastics are added to the race card for three events; May 24th, July 12th and August 16th. The Dirt Modified Nostalgia Tour, vintage cars, will visit twice, August 31st and September 20th alongside the OSCAAR pavement Hot Rods.
Additional marquis events that you can’t miss are the Brighton Recycling School Bus races. Full sized decked out school buses will take to the 1/3rd mile clay oval twice in 2025, July 19th and October 4th. These two events are always a sell out and tickets are available online now for purchase so don’t delay!
The season at Brighton Speedway would not be complete without the Cool 100 Applefest Shootout on September 26th and 27th. Two nights of racing action featuring DIRTcar 358 Modifieds, DIRTcar Sportsman, Northeast Late Model Alliance Great Crate Race, UMP Modified/Canadian Modified 2nd showdown plus Thunder Stocks and Mini Stock ODCC Duel on the Dirt events. Drivers travel from all over Ontario and upper New York to take part in this racing experience. With live music, camping and the Municipality of Brighton’s Applefest festival in town, this experience is not to be missed.

Brighton Speedway is a 1/3rd mile clay oval located in the municipality of Brighton on the shores of Lake Ontario. Opened in 1967, the Speedway hosts five divisions on a weekly basis, beginning at the first weekend in May and ending on the first weekend in October. With two travelling series, the Lawns We 360 Sprint Cars and the Vanderlaan Building Products Northeast Late Model Division calling Brighton home, many other series visit the track each season to impress the fans and challenge the tight turns on the dirt track.
