The milder temperatures are bringing a spring in the steps of racers and fans alikeDrivers are busy in their race shops getting ready for another fantastic race season and fans are anxiously awaiting the drop of the green flagBrighton Speedway Promoters, Mark and Angie Rinaldi have 24 events on the 2024 schedule at homeThe first flags will fly on Saturday, May 4th when Vanderlaan Building Products presents the $2024.00 to win Northeast Late Model Alliance Lid Lifter and Brighton Fare Share Food Bank fundraiserAdditionally, for May the 4th Be With You, there will be a costume contest and prizes to honour all the Star Wars Fans!   

The daredevils from ProRider FMX are back the long weekend in July, kicking off the Canada Day Festivities on Saturday, June 29th with JR Wazny and his team thrilling you with aerial acrobatics and gravity defying jumpsIf you are camping in the area or just don’t want to miss out, the Wazny’s team is added to a complete race card and accompanies a Fireworks display presented by Mystical Distributing.  

Monster Trucks return to the Speedway to the speedway on July 20thThis year’s trucks will be the all-new Hellion along with Sabotage making a return appearanceThis event traditionally sells out and features a complete racing program highlighted with freestyle monster truck excitement and ol’ fashioned car crushing actionThis event is a must see, so keep watch for ticketing information.  

We cannot forget to tell our fans about the infamous School Bus RacesA field of more than 16 full sized school buses will take to the track twice again this season, in the most entertaining and craziest race event on the scheduleOn June 15th, alongside a complete race program, these big yellow buses will thrill youThey will be back again on Saturday, October 5th as part of the Eve of Destruction. A day of carnage and hilarity as Enduro Cars, Mini Vans, Demolition Cars and more, cause chaos and entertainment all day long.  Both these events require tickets to be pre purchased, so keep watch, online ticketing will open soon.  

The Lawns We Do 360 Sprint Car series will return in 2024 with a total of 6 events throughout the summerEach event will pay at least $2,000 to win with a series point fund of $10,000.    

Sprint Cars will be in the spotlight for the two-day Labour Day Extravaganza on August 31st and September 1stWith both 360 Sprint Cars and Crate Sprints this event has attracted more than 50 winged warriors to the 1/3rd mile clay oval on the shores of Lake Ontario. There are several bonuses this Labour Day as well for drivers as Crate Cars will pay $2,000 to win each night and 360’s will pay $2,500 on Saturday and $3,000 to win on Sunday along with a bonus of $1,000.00 in each class if any driver can take home both featuresAdditionally, the winners of both Saturday and Sunday nights sprint car features will earn coveted guaranteed starting positions at the 2024 Northern Sprint Car Nationals at Ohsweken Speedway later that month.   

After Labour Day the month of September stays busy hosting a number of marquee events. The John’s Equipment 50 Lap Danny Reid Canadian Modified special and final points night will return on September 7thPavement cars meet dirt on September 21st as OSCAAR Hot Rods test out their skills, joining Oscaar with be the Dirt Modified Nostalgia Tour Vintage cars, the Ontario Topless Sprints and a Mini Stock/Comp 4 open with more on this added event.    

On September 27th and 28th the two-day Applefest Shootout Weekend returns hosting over 300 modified and stock cars from all over Ontario, Quebec and Upper New Yorkthe DIRTcar 358 Modifieds will return both Friday and Saturday featuring the $75 Lap, $5000 to win the Applefest ShootoutJoining the 358 Modifieds will be DIRTcar Sportsmans, NLMA Late Models, a Canadian Modified/UMP Open plus Thunder Stock and Mini Stock Duel on the Dirt eventsThe Winner of Saturday night’s DIRTcar 358 and DIRT Car race will also receive a guaranteed starting position for one of the premier modified events in the northeast at Fulton Speedway’s Outlaw 200 weekend the following weekendWith on track and off-track entertainment all weekend long, the Applefest Shootout Weekend is not to be missed.
